The men of Motown the Musical now have absolutely no excuse not to look perfectly turned out at all times: BBraxton, the men’s grooming company founded by Tony nominee Brenda Braxton, has been named official barber for the hit musical. The new collaboration was inspired by the 30-year friendship between Braxton and Motown director Charles Randolph-Wright, who were castmates in the original Broadway production of Dreamgirls.
“It’s an honor to groom the wonderfully talented gentlemen of the Motown The Musical company,” said Braxton, who welcomed Wright (above) and ensemble members Jesse Nager, Rickey Tripp, Julius Thomas III, Jawan Jackson, Ephraim Sykes and Eric LaJuan Summers (below) to her Harlem salon for some smoking hot photos by Jeremy Daniel. “The photo shoot was fun,” Braxton added, “but we had to keep breaking because we couldn’t stop laughing about the things we remembered from working with the infamous director/choreographer Michael Bennett.”
A Tony nominee for Smokey Joe’s Café, Braxton is known for multiple runs as Velma Kelly in Chicago and most recently appeared off-Broadway in Cougar the Musical.
Located at 116th Street and Fifth Avenue, BBraxton specializes in grooming services for African-American men.
